Distance

This 10K Run starts and finishes at the incredible Open Gate Brewery, and runs under the historic Thomas Viaduct and all the way to the iconic Swinging Bridge! You can learn more about the Thomas Viaduct here, and the Swinging Bridge here.

Please note that there will be an untimed half-mile segment leading to the park entrance, where participants will cross the timing mat. The official timing for the 10K portion will begin at the park entrance.

(Yes, that means you will travel approx. 1/2 mile prior to, and after you run your race distance – think of it as warm up or cool down period! This approach allows us to time the event and ensures the safe crossing of Rt. 1!)

Why the Swinging Bridge 10K?

The Friends of Patapsco Valley State Park and Guinness Open Gate Brewery are partners in supporting stewardship and access to Maryland’s first state park! Located in a bustling section of PVSP, the Swinging Bridge serves as a vital link between Howard and Baltimore Counties.

Our Community

We are a community of park stewards and who work collaboratively to support Patapsco Valley State Park. Our programs and events are grassroots, low key and focused on building investment and access for all park users. In 2025, will be chip timing for the event.
